The renowned Pantone Color Institute™ publishes the new trend colours every year. The shades for 2021 may not be typical bedroom colours, but they are very suitable as an emphasis. This year's trend colours are "Ultimate Gray", a grey shade, and "Illuminating", a yellow shade. Pantones trendfarben Ultimate Gray has a calming effect and radiates serenity, resilience and unshakeable reliability, as solid as a rock. The bright yellow shade exudes liveliness and exuberant cheerfulness and is reminiscent of the warmth of the sun. Together, these two create an illuminating conrtast. As different as these two colours are, they combine well and, according to Pantone, are an expression of "deep thoughtfulness with a sunny outlook". This makes them well suited for adding emphasis to the bedroom furnishings with bed linen or decorative elements in these colours and thus lightening up the rest of the colour scheme in the bedroom.

Bedroom colours 2021 – soft pastel shades

Bedroom colours that are calming but at the same time have a refreshing touch – how can that be achieved? We present to you: delicate pastel shades. It is no wonder that furniture in these shades is trendy, as they create a natural atmosphere and have both a positive and relaxing effect. You can bring this calm positivity into your bedroom with delicate pink, soft lilac or light blue, for example – from the wall colour to decorative elements to the colour design of your bed. Pastel shades have the advantage that they provide colour in the bedroom without being too obtrusive or garish. This means that you can usually enjoy a soft pastel wall colour longer than a gaudy colour.

BeigeBedroom colours 2021 – calming beige

Especially in this time of global uncertainty, we humans need peace and a relaxed atmosphere. The popular bedroom colours this year therefore include a soft beige. This shade has a warm and cosy effect, which creates a calming mood and thus serves as a good basis for restful nights. Beige can be combined well with other light colours such as white or cream, for example, and is particularly accentuated in this constellation. Stronger contrasts with dark grey tones also lend themselves as a good choice and create elegant eyecatchers. Coloured accents provide a modern, fresh look. An example of this is the shade in the next section.

Aegean tealBedroom colours 2021 – Aegean Teal

Among the trendy bedroom colours of 2021, there is also a shade that has a rather poetic name. It is a teal tone that resembles the colours of the Aegean Sea. This shade combines blue, green and a subtle grey component and spreads a calm, peaceful atmosphere, while at the same time appearing strong enough to set highlights as a contrasting colour. Aegean Teal can be combined with light wood, for example, to combine freshness and down-to-earthness. If you use the shade as a counterpart to copper, for example, you can create an elegant look with a modern touch.

Matching accessories to feel good

Depending on which bedroom colours you choose, you can either use accessories to create contrasts – for example, modern and classic or calm with eye-catching details – or to further emphasise the radiance of the shade. The natural and pastel trend colours of 2021 go well with visual highlights that lighten up the ambience in the bedroom and set their own accents. Golden decorative elements exude a luxurious elegance and come into their own well on the bedside table, for example, highlighting the generous headboard in the Swissbed Silhouette. Of course, decorative elements and various accessories can be distributed throughout the room, but you should be careful to maintain a balance in order to preserve the calm character of the bedroom. Have fun choosing your new bedroom colours!
